Bell Lake Kayak/ Silver Peak Hike
Bell Lake Kayak and Hike to Silver Peak
Service Description
A relaxing kayak across Bell Lake to the Silver Peak trail followed by a challenging but worthwhile hike to Silver Peak and back. A good fitness level is a definite asset on this hike. The majority of the trail is under canopy but easy to follow. At the base of the ascent we stop for a rest to eat lunch and hydrate. The ascent to the peak is steep and slippery when wet. After a challenging ascent you are rewarded with spectacular views and a well deserved rest. Once rejuvenated you can explore the ridgeline or just hydrate, rest and take in the view. The descent is a breeze in comparison to the ascent but care should be taken on the way down due to slippery sections . Your knees will thank you later! During bug season(May to mid July) wearing light clothing that covers your arms and legs is recommended. Also footwear with good ankle support is also recommended. Bring enough water for the entire trip or carry a water filter with you. Electrolyte tabs are recommended to be mixed with your water to stave off debilitating muscle cramps. A small backpack is recommended to carry your water, snacks, extra clothing, and other essential items. Participants meet at the Bell Lake parking lot on the morning of the event at 0900am.
